This Lean Black Belt certification program provides the comprehensive subject matter to learn how to develop strategic initiatives, get buy-in from leadership, and move from strategy to implementation. Voice of customer is essential to getting the correct projects underway and moving to project completion. The black belt will learn to write a thorough whitepaper (plan) for developing lean enterprise-wide with leadership’s support. Industry experienced instructors who have worked both strategy and implementation issues present the course. Lean Black Belt Certification is from Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth will be awarded upon successful completion of coursework, test, and whitepaper project.

This Course is designed for Black Belt candidates who are managers, project leaders, continuous improvement participants, and others who already have a certified lean green belt. We will NOT cover the topics from the Lean Yellow Belt or Lean Green Belt Courses. Participants must have a lean green belt or equivalent prior to taking this course since we will not include lean basic tools, lean methods and selection, or detailed lean metrics in this course.
Prior projects are NOT required. We do require a highly-developed 8 to 12+ page whitepaper that is of significant strategic and market insight and developed for use at your current organization.

Approx. 30-day break to write your 8 to 12+ page whitepaper and develop your PPT slides; email completed whitepaper to Larry Parah prior to the start of all presentations. Estimated 40 hours to develop this whitepaper and PPT slides.
