Impact mapping is a strategic, collaborative planning technique that, through visualization, surfaces the hidden assumptions, interpretations and intentions that often derail a product development effort. By focusing first on required business outcomes and then drilling down to deliverables, impact maps provide a focus for informed discussion and decision-making about which products/projects/features to prioritize. Impact maps facilitate collaboration between senior decision-makers in the business, customers and technical developers; support definition of fitness-for-purpose through identifying required changes in actors’ behavior, together with the metrics to measure them; help manage road-maps by focusing on business outcomes rather than pre-set scope limits. In this course you learn how to create, as well as use, impact maps.

I was quite impressed with the Learning Tree instructors and how knowledgeable they were. They’re out there every day doing what they teach. Nothing is better than experience. One instructor had 35 years in the business and was a walking wealth of information.
