Learning Tree International Becomes First Training Provider to Offer APMG-International Certifications Based On GCHQ Certified Cyber Security Training

HERNDON, Va. – Dec. 5, 2016
Learning Tree International has become the first training provider to offer a series of APMG-International certifications based on The Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) Certified Training Courses. On successful completion of a Learning Tree exam, following one of their five GCHQ Certified Training courses, successful candidates will receive an APMG-International certified award demonstrating that they have passed an APMG-International examination based on a GCHQ Certified Training Course.

According to the Cyber Security Breaches Survey1, two-thirds of all large U.K. firms experienced a cyber attack in the past year, the largest of which cost £3m. As the opportunity for significant loss and reputational harm increases with these cyber threats, it’s more important than ever for all staff — from the boardroom to the frontlines — to be cyber aware and vigilant.

“In a world where cyber attacks are a threat to us all, delivering high quality training that equips our attendees to better protect their organisations is essential,” explains Sean Craig, Learning Tree Managing Director. “Learning Tree is proud to offer our customers a choice of cyber security training that has been validated by the GCHQ Certified Training Scheme, which gives them options for obtaining an APMG-International certification.”

Similar to how the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework is transforming cyber security training in the U.S., GCHQ Certified Training (GCT) certifies high-quality cyber security training as part of the National Cyber Security Programme’s goal to develop the skills, knowledge, and capabilities in various aspects of cyber security in the U.K.

APMG is committed to enabling professionals to realise their full potential in their chosen fields by ensuring they receive the highest quality training. To achieve this goal, APMG-approved training providers must undergo a rigorous accreditation process that ensures their courses and conduct is aligned with industry best practices. Candidates can therefore rest assured that they will receive high-quality, GCHQ-certified cyber security training through Learning Tree International.
