  • Exam Prep Course: This course is designed to help you prepare for a certification exam. You can expect coverage of all exam learning objectives, with a focus on understanding key concepts, terminology, and how they’re assessed.   • Content Volume: Certification courses cover a large amount of material in a short time. Instructors prioritize content tied to exam objectives and supplementary topics may be addressed as time allows.
  • Content Pace: Certification courses are fast-paced so that all exam objectives are covered. Instructors adhere to a stricter schedule so that everything is covered. While discussions and examples are included, the focus remains on certification readiness.
  • Outside of Class Study Time: Plan for self-study outside of class, especially if the content is new to you. Passing the exam is not guaranteed.

Audience & Prerequisites

  • Who Should Attend: This course is intended for project managers, risk managers, program managers, PMO leaders, and any project professional preparing for the PMI-RMP certification exam.
  • Prerequisites: To apply for the PMI-RMP certification attendees, must have a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's degree, or global equivalent), 2-3 years of project risk management experience within the past 5 years, and 30 hours of project risk management education (40 hours for those with no Bachelor's degree). Graduates from a PMI GAC accredited program get a 12-month reduction in the project experience requirement. Attendees of this course gain the requisite 30 hours of project risk management education experience.
  • Pre-Course Knowledge: This is an advanced certification course. To get the most out of your experience, Learning Tree recommends attendees have advanced project management experience and an understanding of project risk management at the level of Course 286, Risk Management Training for Projects, Programs, and Operations.

Certification & Exam Information

  • Certification Alignment: This course aligns to the PMI-RMP certification.
  • Certification Expectations: Attendees should expect that some study outside of course hours will be required for certification success. The amount of self-study will depend on prior familiarity with the topic. Passing the exam is not guaranteed.
  • Exam Details: The PMI-RMP exam is 170 multiple-choice questions and 3.5 hours long.
