The PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition, defines PMIS as: “An information system consisting of the tools and techniques used to gather, integrate, and disseminate the outputs of project management processes. It is used to support all aspects of the project from initiating through closing, and can include both manual and automated systems.”

Using SharePoint as the application platform for creating such a system, project management, stakeholders, and team members are empowered by centralizing, standardizing, collaborating, and communicating on all aspects of the Project and its life cycle.  This easy to build, easy to use web-based GUI provides access to all project artifacts, timely Business Intelligence, communications tools, and complete integration with MS Office and MS Project whether it be in SharePoint 2016 on-premise, or SharePoint Online/Office 365.

You Will Learn How To

  • Build a PMIS site structure 
  • Customize the site for effective collaboration, creating a security and communication plan for access and information sharing
  • Design Dashboards (BI) for visualization of project progress, analyzing the project schedule and milestones adn generating status reports
  • Add lists and libraries (Apps), and implement MS Office and MS Project within SharePoint for effective project management

Attendees will work in both SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Online (O365), as well as the newest versions of MS Office and MS Project. Attendees will also see BI components like Performance Point, Power Pivot, and Excel Services at work – bringing to live project visualization for all stakeholders.
