Completing Learning Tree courses is a great way to earn SEUs, and enhance your Scrum and Agile knowledge.

There is no limit to the amount of SEUs earned from our courses that you can submit for your CSP certification. However, a minimum of 14 SEUs is required for this category.

Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO) Certification

Certified Scrum Product Owner • Course 1814 • 2 Days

This course provides practical skills for existing or aspiring Scrum Product Owner. The Scrum Product Owner's role is pivotal to confirming delivery of value “early and often” to the customer, and continuous improvement in an organization's application of Agile methods. You learn how to ensure that business value and user requirements are turned into product delivery by self-managing Scrum Teams. In addition, key foundations of the Scrum Framework are taught, together with approaches for equipping you for effective product backlog ownership and product delivery.

Achieving the Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) Certification is an ever-increasing requirement for programmers working in an Agile environment. It demonstrates that you have a working understanding of Scrum principles and have learned specialized Agile engineering skills.

Learning Tree offers two paths to CSD Certification.


1. Customize your in-depth training by choosing one course from each of the following three categories:

2. Fast-track to CSD by taking Course, 1813, Certified ScrumMaster®, and choosing one of the Technical courses above.

Taking 2-Day Course 1813, Certified ScrumMaster®, will satisfy both your Intro Course and Elective Course requirements! Certified ScrumMaster® requires in-person attendance, as well as passing Scrum Alliance's CSM exam.

NOTE: To achieve certification, you must be fully present for all class days, and pass the Learning Tree exam. Both in-class and virtual participation is permitted. In-class attendance is required for Course 1813 only.

Certified Scrum Professional® (CSP) Certification

Certified Scrum Professionals (CSPs) have demonstrated experience, documented training, and proven knowledge in the art of Scrum. CSPs challenge their Scrum teams to improve the way Scrum and other Agile methods are implemented for every project.

If you are an active CSM, CSD or CSPO who has reached that next level of experience and expertise in the art of Scrum, you can elevate your career even further by earning the CSP credential.

To apply for your CSP certification, you must satisfy three eligibility criteria:

  1. Be a current holder of an active CSM, CSD or CSPO credential
  2. Have a minimum of 36 months of successful Agile/Scrum work experience gained within the past 5 years implementing Scrum inside organizations as a team member, product owner, ScrumMaster, or through other practices.
  3. Gather and submit 70 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) from the past three years
    Note: : SEUs earned from your CSM (up to 16 SEUs), CSD (up to 24 SEUs), and/or CSPO (up to 16 SEUs) certifications can put you well on your way.

Ways to Earn SEUs with Learning Tree

You can choose to participate in several different Learning Tree events and/or services to earn the 70 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) that you need to become a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP).

Earn SEUs by Attending Scrum Alliance Gatherings (Category A)

You can earn up to 45 SEUs at a rate of one credit per hour of participation in Scrum Alliance Global Gatherings, Scrum Alliance Regional Gatherings, Scrum Coaching Retreats, and Scrum Alliance-endorsed User Group events and activities.

Presenting, coaching and attending sessions all count as SEU-eligible activities. A maximum of 8 SEUs may be earned per day.

Learning Tree's Quarterly Scrum User Group

Learning Tree hosts a quarterly Scrum user group, which is conducted by one of our expert Scrum instructors, to discuss and share current Scrum trends, news and practices. We will also have workshops that focus on incorporating/adopting Lean, Agile and Scrum, as well as group discussions that allow participants to share and learn from each other's experiences.

Earn SEUs by Participating in Outside Events (Category C)

Up to 15 SEUs may be earned by participating in other relevant events not sponsored by Scrum Alliance, such as Agile conferences, regional interest group meetings, training from someone who is not a Registered Education Provider (REP) or Certified Scrum Trainer (CST).

SEUs are earned at a rate of one credit per hour of active participation.

Once you've completed a course, your instructor will be available to help you apply your newly gained knowledge, overcome any start-up hurdles, and offer guidance on specific applications.
