How to Use FlexEd
Using FlexEd Funds
Once you receive your FlexEd funds, you can pay Learning Tree directly via a personal credit card. To accomplish this task, go to https://www.learningtree.com/payment. Then follow the steps below.
- Once there Enter Our Ref No. (Located at the top of the invoice) in the indicated field
**Please note the Our Ref No. will be the course Sequence Number - Enter Invoice No. (Located at the top right-hand corner of invoice)
- Click Next and follow instructions to complete the process
Course Completion Certificates
Your course completion certificate will be available one week after the course has concluded. To obtain your certificate, log into your MLT account and follow the steps below.
- Click "Course History"
- Click "Details" under last class attended
- Click "Certificate of Achievement"
- Download or print certificate
Please submit your paid invoice receipt along with your certificate to provide proof of completion of course.
Exam Vouchers
Exam vouchers will be made available at the beginning of the course and will be sent via email. Please contact Pearson Vue to schedule your exam, which can now available online.
Information about Security+
- Approved by DoD meet the 8570 directive and is also compliant with the ISO 17024 standard.
- Security+ certification is a requirement for many cybersecurity jobs in the federal government generally and DoD specifically.
- Certification demonstrates comprehensive understanding of technical cybersecurity subject matter and also provides a excellent foundation of knowledge before pursuing other, more advanced, certifications.
- Security+ is a foundation for both technical and non-technical careers. After obtaining the Security+ credential many students pursue either a technical track including CySA+, PenTest+, CEH and/or CHFI or a management track including CISSP, CISM and/or CISA.

Best practice tips for the exam
Understand the material, which means thoughtful study and instruction, supplemented with 2 years of IT experience (experience not required.) Solid understanding of computer networking concepts makes the security+ subject matter easier to understand. Practicing for the exam using sample questions is extremely important.
