What is this course about?This course is the final module of the Service Lifecycle and/or Service Capability modules and leads to the ITIL Expert Qualification in IT Service Management. This course builds on knowledge gained from the ITIL Intermediate qualifications and moves toward the application and integration of ITIL processes, providing skills that can be applied tangibly in the workplace. Who will benefit from this course?This course is valuable for those who want to achieve the ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle Qualification. Specifically, this course is targeted to the following individuals:Those who require a business- and management-level understanding of the ITIL lifecycle and how to implement it to enhance the quality of IT service provision within an organizationThose who want to obtain the ITIL Expert Qualification, for which this course is the final mandatory moduleThose seeking to progress toward the ITIL Master Qualification, for this the ITIL Expert is a prerequisite What background do I need?In order to attend this course and take the ITIL Certification Exam on the final day, you must hold the ITIL Foundation Certificate (2 credits) and have earned an additional 15 credits from the other ITIL qualifications, including the Intermediate qualifications, complementary qualifications and some earlier qualifications. Note that only 6 credits can come from complementary qualifications.It is strongly recommended that candidates complete at least 28 hours of personal study before attending the course, including reviewing ITIL Foundation and Intermediate level materials, reading the provided case study, reviewing the certification syllabus and reviewing the ITIL core publications.Does this course count toward the ITIL Expert certification?Yes. This course is the final module of the Service Lifecycle and/or Service Capability modules and leads to the ITIL Expert Qualification in IT Service Management. the Cabinet Office? Both Learning Tree and this course have been accredited by the APM Group.
As an accredited training organization (ATO), Learning Tree and its
trainers have been approved to deliver this course and invigilate ITIL
exams. APM Group is responsible for providing the examination papers, and
marking and notifying Learning Tree of the results. The five ITIL core
manuals are part of a suite of guidance developed and owned by the Cabinet
Office aimed at helping organizations and individuals manage their
projects, programs and services.Has this certification and training course been updated to ITIL 2011?Yes. The 2011 updates to the ITIL core publications were designed to:Resolve any errors or inconsistencies in the text and diagrams, both in content and presentation;Address suggestions for change made by the training community to make ITIL easier to teach; andImprove the publications by addressing issues raised in the change control log (these are largely to do with clarity, consistency, correctness and completeness). This update reflects the evolution of best practices. You have two hours to complete the 10 gradient-style, complex multiple-choice questions. There is a balance of easy, medium and hard questions across a paper. Each question (or group of questions) are introduced with short scene-setting text. The exams are designed to be more challenging than the ITIL Intermediate (Capability and Lifecycle) exams due to the syllabus content coverage. The pass score is 70%.

- Seventeen credits from the ITIL v2 and v3 qualifications are needed to attend this course and take the ITIL Certification Exam on the final day
Exam Entry Criteria
Candidates must hold the ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate or the v3 Foundation Bridge Certificate and have at least 17 credits from previous certifications.
It is also strongly recommended that candidates complete the pre-course work, which includes reading the Key Element Guide Suite, reviewing the certification syllabus and reviewing the ITIL Service Lifecycle core publications in advance of attending the course.
