What is this course about?This course covers the features in Word, Excel and PowerPoint that help to increase your productivity. You learn to connect to, analyze and present information using Microsoft Office, with a special focus on how these programs work together. This course offers you the skills to expedite everyday tasks.Specifically, you learn to build professional documents in Word with enhanced functionality; quickly present and summarize data with Excel using PivotTables and PivotCharts; easily incorporate external data sources; create visually dynamic and effective presentations in PowerPoint; and safeguard documents from viruses and unathorized access. Which version of Microsoft Office is used in the course?This course uses both the 2010 and 2007 versions of Microsoft Office. The course exercises can be completed in either version.Who will benefit from this course?Business professionals, administrative professionals, IT personnel (especially helpdesk), managers, executives, and PAs (personal assistants) benefit from this course. This course is appropriate for anyone interested in enhancing their Microsoft Office skills for improved productivity. What background do I need?A general knowledge of Microsoft Office--experience with Office applications at an introductory level--is assumed.My company is using Office 2003. Will this course still be helpful to me?The user interface is significantly different in Office 2007 and 2010, however much of the functionality is the same in versions 2003, 2007 and 2010. There are many new features in Office 2007 and 2010, however the basic principles in the course apply to version 2003 users.Will the course explore the user interface in detail?Yes, this course does explore the user interface in detail as well as the expanded formatting functionality in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Will the course cover Master pages in PowerPoint?Yes, the course covers, in detail, how to create and modify the Master page. In addition, focus is given to creating design templates.Will I learn how to use MS Query?Yes, you learn how to use the MS Query Wizard to retrieve external data, but this course does not cover the Query By Example (QBE) grid or OLAP cubes.
